I302

Academic Success in the Digital University
August - December 2022

As part of the class I302, Academic Success in the Digital University, I developed a portfolio website to showcase my projects, both from this class and others and my extracurriciular experiences.

I learned how to edit HTML and CSS, and used Mozilla Thimble to customize an HTML template and make it my own. I then learned how to host my new HTML website with Github Pages, and how to maintain it going forward.

I also completed the following projects - read about them below.

Research Project

For this project, I wrote a research proposal on how the Covid-19 pandemic impacted women working in the field of STEM. I used three research papers which were published in reputable journals to establish my research proposal. I have learned a lot about the challenges women in STEM faced due to the pandemic and how they overcame those obstacles. This project has also helped me learn new research skills like using bulean operators such as 'and', 'or' and 'not' to narrow down the search results.

Group Project

For the group project, my team and I created a group wiki talking about the impacts that COVID-19 had on technology and the workforce. Specifically, the group wiki analyzes the various changes the pandemic brought in workplaces and how technologies adapted to those changes to cater to the needs of the employees.

Reflection Project

For my reflection project, I wrote a 300-600 word essay on which skills I gained throughout the course of this class. I have reflected on which modules and exercises helped me learn these valuable skills and in which areas this class has to improve.
